Women join DAR for many reasons. DAR offers an opportunity to express patriotism through connecting with a Revolutionary War ancestor. It helps one understand the importance of America’s proud history and establishes lineage for future generations. It promotes service to the community and the nation through many volunteer activities. DAR fosters new friendships and a sense of fellowship.

Membership in the DAR is open to any woman over the age of 18 who is descended from a serviceman or Patriot of the American Revolution.
